TOPIC: THE MOST FEARFUL THING
TEXT: Heb. 10:31, Heb.12:29
BRETHREN, God who gave us life and can take it anytime without our permission, should be feared. God will judge the secrets of men; He is the God who sees everything going on in our hearts, lives and in the world. God, whom nothing can deliver you out of His hands; He who will judge and cast into hell fire (Rom. 14:12; Luke 12:4-5).
We shall consider the following subheadings:-
1. The Command To Fear God And Reasons
2. Our Response And Consequences Of Not Fearing God
1. THE COMMAND TO FEAR GOD AND REASONS
We have been commanded to fear God severally in the Holy scriptures and no one should look down on it; when God Himself demands the fear of Him, we should fèar Him (Mal. 1:6). All the prophets, Jesus Christ our Lord, the Apostles and the men of God have commanded/enjoined us to fear God (Deut.6:13; Eccl.5:7; Eccl.12:13; Luke 12:4-5; 2Cor.7:1; 1 Peter 2:17). Remember, He has the final say in every matter. He is the judge and has the power to kill, do all things; nobody can deliver out of His hands (Heb. 10:31; Heb. 12:29; Luke. 12:4-5; Isaiah 43:13).
2. OUR RESPONSE AND CONSEQUENCES OF NOT FEARING GOD
Everyone should fear God, so that you will not face God's judgement. We must fear God and stop doing evil; for God will judge the evil doers. Remember, the fear of God is to depart from evil Prov. 3:7. DO not be unfaithful, come to service on time, love one another in holiness, be a worker, be regular in the Bible study, do not steal, lie or fight. Serve the Lord with fear and trembling and if it be otherwise, such person will face God's judgement and will be cast into hellfire (Heb. 10:31; Heb. 12:29).
